Dragan Tomić (1935 - 2022), died at age 86 years

was a Serbian politician, a member of the Socialist Party of Serbia, who was the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, holding the position from 1994 to 2001. Considered a loyal supporter of Slobodan Milošević, Tomić was director of RTV Politika, one of Serbia's main TV stations, and director of Jugopetrol AD, the state oil company.After Milošević reached the end of his two allowed terms as President of Serbia and got himself elected as President of Serbia and Montenegro, Tomić by default became acting President of Serbia, from 23 July to 29 December 1997. In the second cabinet of the Prime Minister Mirko Marjanović, Tomić was the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, from 1998 to 2000.Tomić was closely tied to Milošević. Chantal Poupaud (unknown - 2022)

was a French film director, producer, and screenwriter. After starting out as a press attaché, she was behind the 1990s Arte series Tous les garçons et les filles de leur âge [fr]. Poupaud grew up in Brissac-Quincé in Maine-et-Loire. She worked to promote the films of Marguerite Duras for seven years, as well as films directed by Benoît Jacquot, Chantal Akerman, Lino Brocka, Aki Kaurismäki, and Wim Wenders.At the start of the 1990s, Poupaud discovered the idea for Tous les garçons et les filles de leur âge while watching her two sons, Yarol [fr], aged 18 and Melvil, aged 14. She believed that being a teenager was the same for all, despite different circumstances. She then invented the idea of a series of films on adolescence. Her series was broadcast in 1994 and received critical acclaim.In the late 1990s, Poupaud experienced health problems, inspiring her to create a series based on "a heroine who finds herself facing a therapist after having found herself struggling with her body". Paul Murdock Ellwood Jr. (1926 - 2022), died at age 95 years

was a prominent figure in American health care. Often referred to as the "father of the health maintenance organization," he not only coined the term, he also played a role in bringing about structural changes to the American health care system to simultaneously control cost and promote health by replacing fee-for-service with prepaid, comprehensive care. The term "HMO" was coined by Ellwood in a January 1970 Fortune Magazine article. More recently, he has advanced an agenda for monitoring health outcomes, so that patients, providers, and payers can make health care decisions based on real information about what treatments and providers are actually effective.Ellwood began his career as a pediatric neurologist, specializing in polio at the height of the international polio epidemic in the early 1950s. The epidemic subsided with the introduction of the polio vaccine by Jonas Salk. The Sister Kenny Institute, which Ellwood directed, then filled its vacant beds with children suffering from learning disabilities. According to Ellwood, one evening while doing rounds amid crying children, it struck him that they were making decisions for economic reasons (the need to fill hospital beds) that were not in the best interests of patients. Dennis Cahill (1954 - 2022), died at age 68 years

was an American guitarist who specialized in Irish traditional music. He was born in Chicago of parents from County Kerry, Ireland. Cahill began playing guitar at the age of nine and studied the instrument at the Chicago Musical College. He was active in the Irish traditional music scene in Chicago in the 1980s and 1990s.In the late 1980s he and Irish fiddler Martin Hayes formed a band in Chicago called Midnight Court which combined traditional music with rock and roll. The band, in which Cahill played a Fender Telecaster and Hayes an electric fiddle, was active between 1989 and 1992. After its demise Cahill and Hayes continued to work together and formed an acoustic duo in 1996, developing an "unrushed, lyrical, highly expressive interpretation" of traditional Irish music.
