Aleksandr Nikitin (1935 - 2022), died at age 87 years

was a Russian chess player, coach and theorist.Born in Moscow, Nikitin attended and graduated at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. He then worked on a production at the MPEI Special Design Bureau. Nikitin participated at the 1959 USSR Chess Championship, where he then served as a coach in 1963 with Igor Bondarevsky. In 1973, he met Garry Kasparov for whom in the next three years Nikitin served as his coach for chess until 1990. Nikitin then served as the coach of Étienne Bacrot in the late 1990s. In 1993, he was honored the FIDE title of International Master. Nikitin was also given the title of "Honored Coach of the USSR.", , In Memory of Aleksandr Nikitin.
